Privacy Policy

We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information when you visit our website and subscribe to our newsletter.

1Data We Collect and Why

We only collect your email address when you voluntarily sign up for our newsletter. We use this information solely to send you updates and newsletter content. The legal basis for processing this data is your explicit consent.

2Third-Party Services

We share your email address with MailerLite, our email marketing service provider, to deliver our newsletter. MailerLite safely stores your data and processes it according to our instructions.

If you email us, your message and email address are handled by Google Workspace, our email provider. We use them only to reply to you.

3Analytics and Infrastructure

  • Plausible Analytics: We use Plausible Analytics to track website usage. Plausible is a privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across different websites.
  • Cloudflare: Our website is hosted and secured using Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process network data (such as IP addresses) strictly to optimize site performance, mitigate security threats, and prevent malicious attacks.
  • Download counting: When you download the CodeTroupe installer or a release from our website, we count the download in Plausible Analytics: which file, the tool that fetched it (such as curl), and for a release its version and whether it is for a new install or an upgrade. Plausible uses your IP address only to tell downloads apart, through an anonymous identifier that changes every day, and does not store it.

4No Cookies

Our website does not use cookies. You will not see a cookie consent banner because no tracking or non-essential cookies are placed on your device.

5Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of your email address at any time. You can easily unsubscribe from our newsletter by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email we send, or by contacting us directly at privacy@codetroupe.com.

If you believe we handle your data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH, naih.hu), or with the data protection authority of the EU country where you live or work.

6Data Retention

We keep your email address only for as long as you remain subscribed to our newsletter. If you unsubscribe, your data will be permanently deleted or minimized according to standard data practices.
